Broadcast 6/19/09 – KVCR had Melinda Opperman, the vice president of community outreach for Springboard.org, a local non-profit organization dedicated to helping people get financially on-track and become viable and self-sufficient, in studio to answer questions from host Roger Bowman and from viewers. In response to the crisis, Springboard provides on-staff HUD counselors who help people determine if they qualify for loan modifications or other forms of assistance to help them keep their home. Also in the studio was Ryan Escamilla-Woods, a homeownership retention specialist with another local non-profit, Neighborhood Partnership Housing Services. He is very fluent in modifications, foreclosure, and short sale processes, and the program was fortunate to have these two excellent guests available to take your calls.
