I am in direct communication with my lender and I have requested a Loan Mod. My lender said that: my mortgage is backed by State Bonds of California and can not modifiy my loan, because it would be a "gift" to me. Is this true? I understand that the State of California has it's budget problems; however, it would be benifical to me and the State to, for example, reduce the monthly interest rate to 2%, extend the load from 30 years to 40 years. Questions: Is there any way CAL VET and help me out and modifiy my load.
